Happy Summer Folks!

Happy Summer Folks! It’s almost over now, and in a few weeks we’ll be heading into Oktoberfest!

We’ve had a brilliant few months including a variety of Weddings in many different places as well as three festivals this year.

At the end of April/Beginning of May we hosted Bavarian Beerhouse’s Springfest (photos here!), with both Friday and Saturday nights going down a storm! In July we headlined one of the shows at Saffron Walden’s 8 Day Weekend (photos here!), and just under two weeks ago we were performing in sunny Devon for Beautiful Days Festival.

We’ve had more weddings than we can throw sticks at – congratulations to all the Brides and Grooms. We’ve also got more to come in September.

At the end of September we return to The Rusty Bicycle in Oxford for another night of ‘Off-The-Wall Oompah!’ We also have some Northampton dates at the beginning of October – watch this space for more info!

Keep your eyes peeled for the new CD – it’s coming soon (promise!). We also have our beautiful tshirts still for sale;

And don’t forget we’re at Katzenjammers every Saturday night from 8.30pm! 🙂

P.S. Don’t forget we’re also on Facebook and Twitter!

Happy Spring! :)

Happy Spring Folks! The Sun is finally out and here at HB we’re getting ready for plenty of Spring and Summer Sun!

Just to keep you up to date;

You may have seen from our Twitter and Facebook pages that we’ve had another brilliant month with three awesome Birmingham shows at both the Rose Villa Tavern in Hockley and The Yardbird in central Birmingham. As many of you who came know, the latter was in aid of the Douglas Macmillan Hospice and the great turnout has sure to have made a brilliant contribution to a well deserved cause.

Over the last month our video ‘Killing In The Name Of’ gained media attention in the US, being the only UK (or non US for that matter!) band to feature in Relix Magazine’s ‘Five For Friday’, being quoted as one of ‘five brass band covers that will make your head explode with awesomeness’ as part their Mardi Gras festival write up. You can see the full article here;

Our friends over at 21st Century Brass also linked the article for us 🙂

We’ll soon be back in Birmingham, performing as part of the event ‘The Oobleck Oompah’ at new venue ‘Alfie Birds’ in the Custard Factory on Friday July 4th. With a gourmet pizzeria/eatery and an awesome show lined up, it would be good to see all of our Birmingham fans there! You can check out their Facebook page here.

Don’t forget you can also catch us at Bavarian Beerhouse in Tower Hill between 24th and 26th of April from 7pm, and at Bavarian Beerhouse Old Street between 1st and 3rd of May from 7pm*. These shows are ticketed entry (but include a free shot of Jaegermeister!), so make sure you book soon! You can find booking information here.

Before we sign off we also owe an apology to those people who thought we were actually supporting One Direction on their next tour – sorry folks! It was a brilliant April Fools though 😉

*Don’t worry – we’ll still be at Katzenjammers on those Saturdays too! 🙂

Happy Belated New Year From Hosen Brass!

Happy Belated New Year Folks!

As you probably know we’ve been busy bees as usual. We had a fantastic Christmas with some weeks demanding six shows before a restful January. We’re now picking up the pace and the dates are flying in!

In March we’ll finally be performing in our home town! And not only once but three times! On the 11th we’ll be heading down to The Rose Villa Tavern where we recorded our Karma Chameleon Video to rock the joint with three sets of our usual off the wall covers. We then have our second band performing on the 17th at the Yardbird Jazz Club, performing in aid of the Douglas Macmillan Hospice. If you miss the latter then don’t worry, they’ll be there again on April 2nd for another go!

At the end of April and the beginning of May we head back to the Bavarian Beerhouse performing at both Tower Hill and Old Street in London for their Spring Festival. You can catch us between Thursday 24th and Saturday 26th and between Thursday 1st May and Saturday 3rd. Don’t worry, we’ll still be at Katzenjammers on the Saturdays – our brilliant second band will be running the Saturday shows for us.

Amongst many Weddings throughout the Summer and Autumn we’ll be returning to Bavarian Beerhouse again during Oktoberfest between Wednesday October 1st and Saturday October 4th. We also have a Christmas Wedding this year, as well as returning to North Street Bar in Peterborough for some Christmas magic!

We’re also hoping to have finished our first studio album by mid April, with online sales being available from the beginning of May/June – watch this space for updates!

Have you seen our Killing In The Name Of video recently? We’ve had quite the influx of views, and just over a week of hitting the big 3000 we now have nearly 4500! If you haven’t seen it yet have a look and see what all the fuss is about! 🙂

Hopefully see you guys at a show very soon!

Well Winter is finally here folks, and we’re in for a monster of a December with an abundance of shows coming up!

Sadly, most of these shows are private functions but you can still be sure to catch us at Katzenjammers every Saturday night from 8.45pm! We’re also playing at the North Street Bar in Peterborough on the 19th and 20th of December – if you’d like a ticket you’ll need to act fast as Friday 20th has already sold out!

In the last few weeks we’ve been working hard in the studio getting tracks down for our upcoming albums. We’ve had some brilliant shows at Katzenjammers (some where we haven’t been able to move because it’s been so full!), and we’ve had a good share of interesting shows including playing on a boat in the Thames and performing in Asda for the opening of a new store in Birmingham (including running up and down a set of escalators much to the surprise of it’s opening day customers!)!

The first anniversary of our rehearsal video ‘I Want You Back’ came about five days ago, where it had hit 2261 views and is still going strong.

We’ve also been working hard on our performance of The Snowman which lies at the end of a very busy week on Sunday December 15th. We’re performing it in the new Library Of Birmingham, being the live soundtrack to the short movie.

I’m sure we’ll post again with some new pictures and videos before Christmas arrives but if not, then have a very Merry Christmas from all here at Hosen Brass and we’ll see you in the New Year!

Oktoberfest 2013

Oktoberfest has now finished and we’ve had an awesome time, but still more Oktoberfest shows to go!

As you already know, we featured on Free Radio Birmingham for a second time near the beginning of September (shortly after our last post!), playing some of our tunes live on air as well as a Happy Birthday to the Bullring. We also took part in the ‘Best City Ever’ video below which reached in excess of 90,000 views in the first couple of days!

We took part in the Colmore Business Districts Takeover Festival, performing for the public of Birmingham outside of Snow Hill Station as well as appearing at the launch night at the Hotel Du Vin where our picture later appeared in the Birmingham Post which you can see here. We also got together to entertain people in Brindley Place alongside the Sketts Food Markets!

We’ve performed at some brilliant weddings in Oxford, Solihull and Leeds. You can see some videos from the latter here. We’ve also had our usual share of Oktoberfest-themed Nights/Bavarian Nights including those at JWT London (Video in the link above. Pictures to follow!), Worcester Students Union and even Wimbledon!

Last Thursday we were the first English Band to play at Bavarian Beerhouse in Tower Hill London, entertaining guests in a way they’d never been entertained before!

After four hardcore late night shows all over the place last week we had an extra early morning on the Sunday to (finally!) start our first studio recording. Hopefully this should be finished by Christmas, but keep your eyes peeled!

We’re also looking forward this week to having two bands out – our usual Katzenjammers performance as well as a band out in Leyland on behalf of HGA Creative!

Remember to keep an eye on our Facebook page and Twitter account to get the most up to date news, you never know where we’re gonna be at such short notice!
