Don’t Tell The Bride And More!

Happy New Year folks!

It looks like we haven’t updated our posts since 2016, so we thought we’d come back with an update. We had an eventful 2017, with plenty of fantastic Octoberfest shows, some great Katzenjammers Bierkeller gigs, our fair share of weddings, a return to the London Marathon, RideLondon FreeCycle and Rusty Bicycle, and even an appearance on the latest season of Don’t Tell The Bride (which you can see tonight from 9pm!). We also saw the death of Chester Bennington of which you can see our tribute below, as well as being caught up in the London Bridge attacks in June. It was an eventful and upsetting night but we were all fine – our thoughts still go out to those injury or killed and their families.

We’re looking forward to a good 2018, returning to the London Marathon and RideLondon FreeCycle, plenty more weddings and of course our Katzenjammers residency every Saturday from 8.45pm and every other Thursday from 8.15pm.

You can check out an up to date list of our shows on our shows page here. Don’t forget to also follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram – we love to see your videos/photos so please do send them over!

Autumn Update! :D

It’s been a brilliant summer with some wonderful weather, and it looks like it’s still hanging on – perfect drinking and wedding weather!

Summer saw us return to perform at RideLondon’s FreeCycle event and a lot of our usual wedding gigs. We’ve been at some lovely venues, including Brighton Band Stand and a surprising number of boats!

Our performance venue for today 😀 #wedding #brassband

We also had this lovely card coming through our door;

It’s been an eventful summer with our own weddings too, with Sean, Andi, Geoffa and Bob all getting married!

Now we’re in the swing of Oktoberfest, having performed at the US Embassy, plenty of freshers and corporate Oktoberfest celebrations, several shows at Octoberfest Pub in Fulham, and of course our regular Katzenjammers Bierkeller where we’re now also performing every other Thursday evening.

We’ll be returning for the fifth time to The Rusty Bicycle in Oxford on October 28th, and we’ve still got plenty more weddings to go!

We’ve also sold out of our black t-shirts, but not to worry! We’re currently designing a new tee which we’ll be releasing this winter – watch this space! We do have a couple of our winter jumpers still in stock however;

Make sure you keep checking our gig page to see where we’re playing, and make sure you also follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram!

See you at Katz on Saturday 😉

2016 Update

It’s been 9 months since our last update, and so we thought whilst the weather was beautiful, we’d sit down and let you know what we’ve been up to!

Last Oktoberfest was super busy for us, especially October where we did 16 shows in just one week! It was a record breaking month on all accounts, and we had fun performing for Bavarian Beerhouse, Rusty Bicycle, London Oktoberfest, Old Billingsgate Market Oktoberfest, Market Rasen Racecourse, Oktoberfest Pub in Fulham and of course Katzenjammers throughout the festival as well as a variety of private events! Christmas saw us returning to Bavarian Beerhouse and Oktoberfest Pub as well as plenty more Christmas parties throughout London and the UK including the Royal Naval College in Dartmouth.

Since September 2015 we’re now the official Netto Band, performing around the country for Netto’s store openings and pre opening parties. You may have seen the pictures we’ve posted around such as this one with the yellow lego Netto dog;

We’ve performed at sixteen of these now, and will hopefully see Netto moving south over the next year or so, so watch out for us at a Netto near you!

In March we performed at the Silverstone Half Marathon where we cheered on charitable runners raising money for a variety of charities. We also performed at this years London Marathon again (debuting a new Sousaphone!) where we were heard on BBC Radio London. We are also set to return to this years RideLondon FreeCycle event on July 30th.

This summer sees us performing at plenty more weddings and outdoor type events – watch our calendar for updates to the diary.

We still have a few t-shirts left for sale, as well as some brand new hoodies that you can purchase.

See you tomorrow at Katzenjammers folks! 🙂

Wishing Everyone A Wonderful Summer!

We are having an exciting and fun-filled summer so far! Although we got rather sun burned at the Prudential RideLondon cycle event last week, we enjoyed providing the tunes to help everyone pedal faster. The vibe was amazing, similar to the London Marathon that we played at a couple of months before with people having a really great time. Our regular Saturday audiences have been singing along to the tunes in our two newly written sets, these include ‘Year 3000’, ‘In Too Deep’, ‘Take on Me’, ‘Mr Brightside’, ‘Come on Eileen’ and ‘Use Somebody’, so come along and see a show soon if you can, we still have all the old favourites in our final set. Other recent shows have seen us floating up and down the Thames, performing amongst circus entertainers and helping many happy couples up and down the country tie the knot.

We also shot a new live video last week. This was completely unplanned, but when we arrived to play at a wedding beside two rivers and a stunning waterfall in the middle of the North Yorkshire Moors, we thought we would take some footage. Have a listen to the waterfall in the background of our performance of ‘I Will Wait’;

Good news! We’ve now got some more Large size Hosen T-shirts! These are our best selling size so make sure you grab yours before they’re gone!

Our ‘Killing In The Name Of’ video has rocketed since January, reaching a massive 12,500 views! That’s 2,500 in the last two months! Check it here.

We also found this nice review of Belgo (and us included!) from last September;

We were kindly given this video by Ollie Denton of us performing Hey Jude at Katzenjammers;

If you’re unsure about heading down to Katzenjammers, then check it out!

Once again, make sure you keep up to date with us on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Instagram and we’ll see you again this Saturday at Katzenjammers for more of the above!
